Uzbek, Kyrgyz presidents discuss energy, transport projects
TASHKENT. May 15 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov discussed enhancing strategic partnership between the two nations while meeting on the sidelines of an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Mirziyoyev and Japarov discussed strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, neighborliness, and a comprehensive strategic partnership, the Uzbek presidential press service said on Friday.
The two leaders also reviewed the practical implementation of top-level agreements, including measures to accelerate major regional energy and transport connectivity projects, among them the construction of a railway linking China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The OTC informal summit is taking place in Kazakhstan's Turkistan.
