Baku, Moscow discuss increasing Azerbaijani agricultural exports to Russia in 2026

BAKU. May 14 (Interfax) - The chairman of the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency (FSA) Goshgar Tahmazli and the head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), Sergei Dankvert, have discussed the possibilities of increasing exports of Azerbaijani agricultural products to Russia.

"The parties at the meeting discussed the possibilities of further increasing supplies of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Russia in 2026 and simplifying export procedures," the FSA said following talks between the heads of the two agencies in Moscow on Thursday.

In addition, issues related to food packaging and labeling, state control in the field of animal and plant health, ensuring product quality, electronic information exchange and the sharing of experience, and animal identification were discussed at the meeting.

The parties also considered the issues of combating particularly dangerous animal diseases and mechanisms for controlling the circulation of pesticides and agrochemicals as well as other matters of mutual interest.
