Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina to liberalize freight carriage from 2027
MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to liberalize the carriage of goods by road from January 1, 2027, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Alexei Kuleba said.
"The corresponding agreements were reached during the first meeting of the mixed commission on international freight carriage by road in Sarajevo," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Kuleba as saying on social media.
The parties also agreed to increase the quota for freight transport permits before the end of 2026, he said.
Ukraine's trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina has grown fivefold over the past ten years, Kuleba said.
"The liberation of freight carriage will help bolster economic cooperation between the countries," he said.
Ukraine currently has transport visa-free arrangements with 35 countries, with Bosnia and Herzegovina becoming the 36th on this list.
