Rosatom expecting physical launch of seventh power units of China's Tianwan NPP in May - CEO

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Rosatom is expecting the physical launch of the seventh power unit at the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant in China in May 2026, Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev told reporters.

"Everything is going according to plan," he said.

"It is the first of four units," Likhachev said, adding that Rosatom is planning to put the eight power unit at the Tianwan NPP and the third and fourth units at the Xudabao NPP into commission in the next year and a half.

Rosatom is building power units at two NPPs in China, Tianwan and Xudabao. Framework contracts regarding these projects were signed several years ago, and the construction started in the spring of 2022.
