Belarusian 1AK-GROUP to invest $21 mln in pump plant project in western Kazakhstan

ASTANA. April 24 (Interfax) - Belarusian company 1AK-GROUP plans to invest about $21 million to build a pump manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan's Mangistau region, the regional governor's press service said.

The project was presented on Friday at a meeting between Mangistau region governor Nurdaulet Kilybay and company representatives, the press service said.

The plant is expected to be built in two phases and will produce centrifugal pumps and modular pumping stations for the oil and gas, water and chemical sectors.

"Total investment in the project is about $21 million. The investor is the 1AK-GROUP group of companies," the press service said.

The project is aimed at reducing Kazakhstan's reliance on imported pumping equipment. In 2024, imports of such products totaled $521 million, the press service said. "The new facility will not only supply the domestic market but also enable exports to EAEU countries and the Caspian region," it said.

1AK-GROUP is a major Belarusian diversified holding specializing in the production and distribution of batteries and lead alloys. The company has been operating since 1995.
