EU imposes sanctions against Bashneft, Slavneft, Gazstroyprom, Gazprom Flot, 12 Russian refineries

MOSCOW. April 23 (Interfax) - The European Union has included a number of large companies linked to the Russian oil and gas sector in its latest sanctions package, according to the official journal of the EU.

In particular, restrictions have been imposed against the companies Bashneft and Slavneft, as well as its subsidiaries Krasnoyarskneftegaz and Megionneftegaz.

Sanctions have been imposed against 12 Russian refineries: the Achinsk, Komsomolsk, Ryazan, Syzran and Tuapse refineries and Angarsk Petrochemical Company of Rosneft ; the Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Ukhta refineries and Permnefteorgsintez of Lukoil ; the Afipsky refinery of ForteInvest, and Yaroslavnefteorgsintez of Slavneft.

Also subject to restrictions were Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, Rosnefteflot and Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft.

Sanctions have also been imposed against a number of Gazprom structures - Gazprom LNG Technologies and Gazprom Flot, which operates a number of vessels for transporting liquefied natural gas. In addition, restrictions have been extended to the monopoly's major construction contractor, Gazstroiprom, as well as one of Russia's leading drill bit manufacturers, Volgaburmash.

The sanctions list now also mentions well-known Russian financier Ilya Shcherbovich and his founded United Capital Partners, which is a co-owner of the Indian oil refinery Nayara. In addition, EU sanctions have been imposed against four Emirati ship owners: Altrum Group, Centauri Services LLC, Lumen Ship Management and Lark Shipmanagement.

The Belarusian Oil Company, the country's leading exporter of petroleum products, has also fallen under EU restrictions.
