Foreign investment in Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector up 1.5-fold in Q1

BAKU. April 21 (Interfax) - Total capital investment in Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector amounted to 1.53 billion manat ($898 million at the current exchange rate) in Q1 2026, up 44.6% year-on-year, the country's State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

According to statistics, foreign investment in fixed capital in Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector increased 45.6%, to 941.3 million manat.

Foreign investment accounted for 61.7% of all investment in this sector of the economy.

Investment from domestic sources increased 43.1%, to 584.6 million manat.

The official exchange rate on April 21 is 1.7 manat/$1.
