Russia increases revenue from pork exports to China almost twofold in Q1 to $21.1 mln - Chinese customs
MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - Russia exported pork products to China worth $21.1 million in January-March 2026, almost twofold more than in the same period of 2025 ($11.6 million), according to materials from China's General Administration of Customs.
As a result, Russia managed to maintain fifth place among the main suppliers of pork to China. Moreover, for several months now, Russia has been surpassing such a large pork producer as the Netherlands (which supplied $13 million worth of products to the Chinese market) in export revenue and has almost caught up with Denmark ($21.2 million).
In total, China purchased pork products from 17 countries in January-March. The main suppliers were Spain ($114.5 million), Brazil ($61 million) and the United Kingdom ($26 million).
In March, Russia's export revenue from pork supplies to China increased 1.4-fold to $7.4 million from $5.4 million in March 2025.
As reported, Russia exported pork products to China worth $86.5 million in 2025, up 1.6-fold compared to the figure for the previous year ($53.3 million).
Russian pork first appeared on the Chinese market in April 2024 after China lifted the ban on importing it in autumn 2023. Three companies currently have the right to supply: Miratorg, Tambov Bacon (Rusagro Group ), and Velikie Luki Meat Plant. Miratorg was the first exporter. According to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), applications from seven more companies are currently being reviewed for the right to export pork products to China.
