Ruble's share in settlements between Azerbaijan, Russia for exports reaches 42%, for imports at 83% - Azerbaijani deputy PM

BAKU. April 16 (Interfax) - The share of payments in Russian rubles in settlements for trade operations between Azerbaijan and Russia is showing steady growth, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.

"In the financial sector, effective cooperation has also been established. In particular, the share of the Russian ruble in settlements as part of bilateral trade is showing steady growth: it has increased to 42% for export operations and to 83% for import operations," Mustafayev said at a meeting of the Azerbaijani-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in the city of Zangilan on Thursday.

In addition, Azerbaijan and Russia are actively cooperating in the energy sector, he said.

"The Azerbaijani energy system operates in parallel with the first synchronous zone of Russia's Unified Energy System. Long-term agreements are in place between the system operators for electricity supplies both in planned and emergency modes," he said.
