Uzbekistan to host Russian Film Festival in 2026 - Russian culture minister

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Russia and Uzbekistan continue to develop their cultural cooperation, and Uzbekistan will host the Russian Film Festival in 2026 and will work together with two theater companies to create theatrical productions in the Russian language, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said.

"Film-making remains one of the key areas of cooperation between our countries. The Russian Film Festival will take place in Uzbekistan this year, and joint projects and interaction as part of the Eurasian Academy of Motion Picture Arts are planned," Lyubimova said on Max following a meeting of the Russian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

Russia and Uzbekistan will progressively develop their theatrical partnership and support Russian cultural entities in Uzbekistan, including cooperation with two theater companies this year to create theatrical productions in the Russian language, she said.
