Manturov, Modi hold talks in New Delhi - Russian first deputy PM's secretariat

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a visit to New Delhi, the Russian official's secretary said in a statement on Thursday.

"Indian Prime Minister Modi has received Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Manturov," the statement said.

Manturov, who co-chairs the bilateral commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, arrived in India for a working trip on Wednesday to discuss a "wide range of matters concerning the bilateral cooperation," it said.

"The key focus of the commission's work today is to comprehensively expand the trade and economic ties, ensure the stability of mutual payments and logistical chains, improve the terms of mutual market access, and to search for and support new investment initiatives and cooperation projects. We will discuss specific steps in the implementation of plans outlined, including in the light of the 2030 economic cooperation program approved in December 2025 and in the context of the current situation worldwide, at planned meetings with our Indian partners during the trip," Manturov was quoted in the statement as saying.
