Russia continuing contacts with U.S. on Ukraine settlement, remains open to talks - Peskov
MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Russia remains open to negotiations on settling the Ukraine crisis and is keeping in touch with the United States on this matter, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Moscow is continuing contacts with the Americans via the available channels. We are receiving information on what's happening. We welcome the continuation of U.S. efforts aimed at ensuring the necessary conditions for securing a settlement to the Ukraine issue," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
Peskov also offered his comment on U.S. President Donald Trump's recent statement that Russia and Ukraine are approaching a deal.
"As regards whether we are approaching one or not, I suppose each round of these negotiations is indeed a step towards finding a form of settlement. For us, it is primarily a formula where our interests are taken into consideration. We expect these mediation services by the U.S. to continue. We remain open to negotiations," he said.
