Russia's Energy Ministry monitoring supply of fuel, damper on domestic market; sees profitability in fuel business

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Russia's Energy Ministry is monitoring the supply of domestic fuel and the operation of the damper, and sees profitability in businesses across all fuel segments, Deputy Energy Minister Anton Rubtsov said during a session on the prospects of petroleum product markets at the Exchange Commodity Market international forum.

"We must take a close look at what is happening with energy prices. We must ensure that the domestic market is supplied, assess how effectively the damper is working, and if it is insufficient, then take additional measures. If prices continue to rise, then [we must] reinstate the practice of limiting exchange price increases. The current situation ensures profitability in all segments of the fuel business," Rubtsov said when commenting on the effect of the global energy crises.
