EBRD to provide Tajikistan with 10 mln euros for introducing electric transport
DUSHANBE. March 19 (Interfax) - Tajikistan has signed loan and grant agreements with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) totaling 10 million euros for implementing the second phase of a project to introduce electric public transport in the Khatlon region, the press center of the Tajik Finance Ministry said.
These include loan funds amounting to 6.4 million euros and grant funds of 3.6 million euros.
The main goal of the project is to purchase electric buses and equipment, construct parking areas and improve the quality of public transport services in the Khatlon region in southern Tajikistan.
The agreements were signed by Tajik Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and the EBRD's permanent representative in Tajikistan, Holger Wiefel.
