National Bank of Ukraine sets hryvnia's official exchange rate on March 18 at UAH 43.9497/$1

MOSCOW. March 18 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the hryvnia-dollar official exchange rate at UAH 43.9497/$1 on March 18, with the national currency strengthening by UAH 0.13 over the day and trading at less than UAH 44/$1 for the first time since March 12.

The NBU set the hryvnia-dollar reference exchange rate at UAH 43.98/$1 on March 17, just below the UAH 44/$1 mark for the first time since March 11, Ukrainian media reported.

The hryvnia's official exchange rate to the euro weakened by UAH 0.06 to UAH 50.6388/EUR1.

The buy rate in the interbank market on March 17 was UAH 43.77/$1, and the sell rate was UAH 43.80/$1.
