Russia intends to collaborate with China's Ningxia Eppen in biotech - Russia's Agro Ministry

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russia intends to implement joint projects with China's Eppen Group in the area of amino acid production, as well as to cooperate in other areas of the agricultural sector.

Russia's Agriculture Ministry said that the respective parties discussed the prospects for collaborating during the working visit of Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut to China.

"One of today's priorities of Russia's agricultural sector is developing biotech production, including collaboration with international partners. China's Ningxia Eppen Investment Group has in-house expertise in strain selection, fermentation, downstream processing, and technology transfer, as well as implementing projects in the area.", according to the statement.

Lut met with Ningxia Eppen Investment Group's chairman of the board of directors, Yang Xiaoping, during the visit. "The parties discussed implementing joint projects in amino acid production, as well as prospects to collaborate in other areas of the agricultural sector going forward.", according to the press release.

"Our Chinese partners have confirmed their readiness to bolster collaborating in biotech and to promote developing scientific, engineering, and industrial bases in Russia and China," the press service said.
