Ukraine expects to receive 5 bln euros from int'l partners to support its energy sector - Shmygal

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - Kiev plans to receive 5 billion euros from international partners this year to restore and modernize the Ukrainian energy sector, Ukrainian media quoted First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denis Shmygal as saying during a Government Hour parliamentary session on Friday.

The next 'energy Ramstein' conference will be held in Brussels next week, where Ukrainian government officials will discuss additional support, he said.

"We're also working to increase our electricity import capacity, which currently is 2.45 GW. Our ambitious goal is to bring this figure to 3.5 GW and more in the coming years," Shmyhal said.
