KazPost plans IPO in 2028
ASTANA. March 13 (Interfax) - KazPost, Kazakhstan's national postal operator, plans to hold an initial public offering in 2028 and has drawn up a roadmap to improve profitability ahead of the listing, the company's CEO Bekezhan Zhakeyev said Friday.
"A government resolution provides for KazPost's IPO in 2028. A roadmap has been drawn up," Zhakeyev said at a meeting of the public council of Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
Zhakeyev said the company plans to increase profitability as part of its pre-IPO preparations. He also stressed the need to improve the compensation mechanism for loss-making postal services, suggesting this could be done either by increasing government subsidies or by requiring some quasi-state companies to use KazPost's services.
The company said subsidies for postal services remain insufficient. In 2025, the government allocated 2.04 billion tenge for the program, while losses in this segment totaled about 12 billion tenge.
KazPost said total revenue in 2025 rose 25.3% to 133.6 billion tenge, compared with 106.6 billion tenge a year earlier. The growth was driven by the expansion of financial services, e-commerce and international partnerships.
KazPost is Kazakhstan's national postal operator and is managed by Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
