Rosatom plans to commission Namaruskoye uranium deposit in Buryatia by end of year

MOSCOW. March 12 (Interfax) - Khiagda, a mining division company of Rosatom state nuclear energy corporation, has begun the active phase of constructing infrastructure at the Namaruskoye uranium deposit in Buryatia, Rosatom said.

Constructing infrastructure and commissioning the deposit are scheduled for the end of the year, Rosatom said.

Rosatom plans to develop the deposit using in-situ leaching. Key linear and power facilities are currently under construction at the site.

"Developing the Namaruskoye deposit is an important stage in the long-term program to develop JSC Khiagda. Implementing the project allows us to develop new reserves, gradually boost uranium production volumes, and ensure uninterrupted supplies of strategic raw materials for Russia's nuclear industry," Khiagda CEO Anatoly Mikhailov said.

Khiagda is a leader in uranium production in Russia, operating at five deposits in Buryatia.
