Armenia, U.S. to sign agreement launching practical stage of Trump Route project - Armenian PM

YEREVAN. March 11 (Interfax) - Armenia and the United States will soon sign an agreement launching the practical stage of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

"The TRIPP project is currently at the crystallization stage. On January 13, the governments of Armenia and the U.S. adopted a joint statement on the framework for implementing the TRIPP project. And very soon Armenia and the U.S. will sign the corresponding agreement, which will give the project its practical start," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in the European Parliament on Wednesday.

This project's implementation will open up new transport opportunities from east to west and from north to south, which fully meets Armenia's interests, Pashinyan said.

"Armenia stands ready today to ensure road network connectivity between Azerbaijan's western districts and Nakhchivan using the available infrastructure," he said.

As reported, Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration in Washington in August 2025 stating that Yerevan would collaborate with Washington and certain third parties to develop the framework for the TRIPP project in Armenia. The project envisages constructing road, railway, and oil and gas infrastructure.
