Germany's exports to Russia fall 8.3%, Russian imports to Germany 20% in Jan
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Germany cut exports to Russia 8.3% month-on-month to 514.16 million euros in January, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis) said in a report.
Its imports from Russia fell 20% to 92.5 million euros.
Germany's exports to Russia in January decreased 15.9% year-on-year, while imports from Russia fell 19.7%.
Germany's total exports adjusted for calendar and seasonal factors decreased 2.3% MoM in January to 130.5 billion euros. Imports decreased 5.9% to 109.2 billion euros.
Germany's exports to the EU decreased 4.8% compared to December. They increased 1% to non-EU countries, including 11.7% to the U.S. Exports to the UK fell 2.6% and exports to China 13.2%.
Imports to Germany from EU countries decreased 6.5% in January, while imports from non-EU countries fell 5.3%. Imports from the U.S. decreased 8.2% and imports from China 8.3%. Imports from the UK increased 2.5%.
Germany had a foreign trade surplus of 21.2 billion euros in January, compared with 17.4 billion euros the previous month.
