Oil companies report to Russian govt on measures to maintain balance on domestic fuel market, support refineries' uninterrupted operation

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting dedicated to the situation on domestic and global oil and gas markets, with the participation of heads of industry companies and representatives of the Energy Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the Finance Ministry, the Industry and Trade Ministry and the Foreign Ministry, the government's press service said.

The global oil and gas market is currently experiencing high turbulence and uncertainty due to the situation in the Middle East, which is leading to rising energy prices in some regions of the world as well as the emergence of new logistical challenges for the industry as a whole, Novak said during the meeting.

"An analysis of the current situation in the country's oil and gas industry was presented. The relevant companies reported on the implementation of measures to maintain the balance on the fuel market and support the uninterrupted operation of oil refineries," the press service said.
