Russian Railways sets discounts on metal, petroleum product transportation from number of stations until end of year
MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The board of OJSC Russian Railways (RZD) has set discounts on the transportation of metal and petroleum products from a number of stations in order to attract additional amounts of cargo to railway transport.
According to RZD, discounts will be in effect until the end of 2026 in the following areas:
- 22.8% on transporting pig iron in gondola cars from Novotroitsk station (Orenburg region) to Novorossiysk;
- 21.6% on transporting copper concentrate in gondola cars from Tamerlan station to Pirit station (Chelyabinsk region);
- 12.6% on domestic Russian and export transportation of petroleum products in tank cars from Vetlasyan station (Komi Republic);
- 30% on transporting sheet steel in railcars from Asha station (Chelyabinsk region) to stations of the West Siberian and Moscow Railways;
- 50% on transporting ferrous metals from Cherepovets through a number of border crossing stations on the border with Kazakhstan and Samur station on the border with Azerbaijan, as well as to Vladikavkaz station;
- 50% on domestic Russian transportation of other types of rolled ferrous metals from Cherepovets.
A 50% discount will be in effect until the end of 2027 on the transportation of aluminum, brass and copper rod from Bagulnaya and Goncharovo stations (Irkutsk region), Kandalaksha station (Murmansk region) and Krasnoyarsk-Severny to a number of stations on the railway network.
In addition, the company has expanded the list of stations from which passenger cars can be shipped at a discount in car-carrying railcars.
