Putin sees good prospects for energy, agriculture cooperation with Central African Republic
MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - Bilateral cooperation between Russia and the Central African Republic in energy and agriculture has good prospects, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
Putin met with Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadera in the Kremlin, personally congratulating him on his victory in the elections and wishing him every success.
"Beyond any doubt, the fact that citizens of the country voted for you, your convincing victory indicates that people generally support your policy both in terms of strengthening the internal political situation, the security situation and with regard to solutions to economic issues," Putin said.
When commenting on bilateral economic cooperation, Putin said that the decision to set up the two countries' intergovernmental commission on trade and economic ties was timely.
"Here we have good prospects, in my opinion, both in energy, agriculture and infrastructure. We will have something to discuss today both in this broad format and then one-on-one. We will be able to discuss all of these issues one-on-one over a working dinner," he said.
