National Bank of Ukraine weakens reference rate to new all-time low of almost UAH 43.64/$1
MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the hryvnia-dollar reference rate at UAH 43.6388/$1 on Wednesday, weakening by almost 24 kopecks over the past 24 hours and setting a new all-time low, Ukrainian media reported.
As noted, the previous all-time low was set on January 16, when the regulator set the hryvnia-dollar reference rate at UAH 43.4773/$1.
The NBU set the official hryvnia-dollar exchange rate for March 4 at a new low of UAH 43.4548/$1 on Tuesday, weakening by 22 kopecks in one day.
The NBU has weakened the official hryvnia-dollar exchange rate by 2.6% since the beginning of 2026, compared to 0.8% for the entire previous year.
At the same time, the official hryvnia-euro exchange rate, whose role in Ukraine's external financing, international reserves, and public debt increased significantly last year, has devalued by only 1.3% since the beginning of 2026, compared to 14.0% at the end of last year.
