SOCAR and BP are looking into opportunities to collaborate in third countries
BAKU. March 2 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and BP Plc are discussing prospects for joint projects in third countries, SOCAR said.
SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and BP Executive Vice President for Production and Operations Gordon Birrell at a meeting on Monday in Baku discussed the companies' successful collaboration over many years, emphasized the importance of joint projects, and looked into opportunities for joint participation in various projects in third countries.
The talks covered progress on upstream projects, including the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) block, Deep Gas, the free gas reserves in the deep-lying ACG formations; Shah Deniz Compression, a new platform with compressor units at the Shah Deniz field; and the Karabakh oil structure, Ashrafi-Dan Ulduzu-Aypara (ADUA) and Shafag-Asiman blocks.
An exchange of views also took place on midstream projects, namely hydrocarbon transportation; renewable energy; and other issues of mutual interest.
