Putin visits bioeconomy exhibition at Future Technologies Forum

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited an exhibition of cutting-edge developments organized at the Future Technologies Forum.

The Russian Industry and Trade Ministry presented key areas of work as part of the Bioeconomy national project at the exhibition.

Sberbank, Gazprombank, Rosatom, the Kurchatov Institute, and the Moscow government displayed advanced developments in the area of bioeconomy at their booths.

The innovative solutions presented focused, in particular, on the application of artificial intelligence in the bioeconomy, achievements in domestic breeding, clean energy production, the development of healthcare and pharmaceutical technologies, the creation of bio-eco-settlements with small nuclear power plants, and the development of food production and transportation.

Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) head Veronika Skvortsova told Putin about neuroprosthetics at the exhibition.

"We have truly created the first bionic hand prosthesis with sensory perception, thanks to the implantation of special pressure sensors into the fingertips. A device was developed to transform this information into electrical signals," Skvortsova said.

Putin instructed the FMBA to create the world's first sensory prosthetics at this same forum two years ago, she said.

Skvortsova invited Putin to visit the Center for Cybernetic Medicine and Neuroprosthetics at the FMBA Center for Brain and Neurotechnologies.
