Gazprom extends contract with Alexei Miller to lead company for five more years
MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Gazprom's board of directors has re-elected Alexei Miller as CEO as his current management term comes to an end, the issuer reported.
His new contract will start on May 31, 2026.
Alexei Miller was born on January 31, 1962 in Leningrad and is a graduate of Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute. After graduation, he worked as an engineer-economist at the General Planning Division of Leningrad Civil Construction Research and Design Institute (LenNIIproekt under the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council). In 1990, he was section head of the Economic Reform Committee of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council. In 1991-1996, we worked alongside Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg Mayor's Office as head of the Market Monitoring Division of the Foreign Economic Relations Directorate of the External Relations Committee, head of the Foreign Economic Relations Directorate and deputy chairman of the External Relations Committee. In 1996-1999, Miller was head of development and investments at the Sea Port of St. Petersburg. In 1999-2000, he was CEO of OJSC Baltic Pipeline System. Before joining Gazprom in 2001, he served as Russian Deputy Energy Minister for around a year.
