Tajikistan boosts transportation of freight traffic 15% in 2025

DUSHANBE. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Freight transportation in Tajikistan by all modes of transport rose 15.2% to 154.8 million tonnes in 2025, according to materials on the website of the country's Economic Development and Trade Ministry.

All modes of passenger transport carried 1,131.2 million people last year, up 10.9% year-on-year, according to the ministry's report on the results of Tajikistan's socio-economic development.

Transport Minister Azim Ibrokhim at the end of January reported that roadway transport carried 147.3 million tonnes of freight in 2025, up 15.4% year-on-year, and 1,129.5 million passengers, up 10.8% year-on-year.
