Russian cosmonaut Fedyayev in quarantine before Crew Dragon flight to ISS - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrei Fedyayev is in quarantine in the United States before flying to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Crew Dragon spacecraft crew, and he is fit for the flight in terms of his health, Roscosmos said in a statement on Monday.

"Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrei Fedyayev is completing his pre-launch training. The Crew-12 mission crew is in quarantine at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, U.S.," the statement said.

As noted, medical specialists of the Cosmonaut Training Center conduct daily medical checkups on Fedyayev. "The cosmonaut feels great and is ready to fly," it said.

NASA said the Crew Dragon spacecraft launch is scheduled for February 11 at 2:01 p.m. Moscow time.

Apart from Fedyayev, the crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway and the European Space Agency's Sophie Adenot.

The spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the ISS at 6:30 p.m. Moscow time on Thursday.

Cosmonaut Fedyayev will travel to the ISS under a seat barter agreement between Russia and the U.S.

Roscosmos and NASA signed a seat barter agreement for Russian cosmonauts on U.S. Crew Dragon manned spacecraft and U.S. astronauts on Russian Soyuz MS manned spacecraft as part of the ISS program in July 2022.

The three-person crew currently aboard the ISS consists of Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikayev and NASA astronaut Christopher Williams.
