National Bank of Ukraine ranks banks by their profitability
MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The net profit of Ukraine's state-owned PrivatBank in 2025 decreased by 27.6% compared to 2024 to UAH 29.1 billion, which makes up 22.9% of the entire national banking system's net profit for last year, Ukrainian media reported citing the National Bank of Ukraine's statement on its website.
The top five banks in this respect also include the state-owned Oschadbank with a net profit of UAH 16.63 billion, which is more than double the 2024 figure, Raiffeisen Bank with UAH 10.74 billion (+150%), Universal Bank (mono) with UAH 10.33 billion (+150%) and the state-owned Ukreximbank with UAH 8.86 billion (+ over 200%).
These are followed by four banks with foreign capital and one Ukrainian, i.e. FUIB with a net profit of UAH 8.05 billion (more than double of the 2024 figure), UkrSibbank with UAH 5.80 billion (+43.4%), OTP Bank with UAH 5.45 billion (+32.3%), Credit Agricole Bank with UAH 5.19 billion (+26.9%) and Ukrgasbank wiith UAH 4.87 billion (+42.5%).
Another seven banks earned over UAH 1 billion in net profit in 2025: Citibank (UAH 4.49 billion, +33.9%), the state-owned Sense Bank (UAH 3.22 billion, +82.5%), Pivdennyi Bank (UAH 2.94 billion, +75.6%), A-Bank (UAH 1.8 billion, over 100%), Kredobank (UAH 1.61 billion, +72.0%), ProCredit Bank (UAH 1.29 billion, +44.3%) and TAScombank (UAH 1.08 billion, over 250%).
Seven other bank closed 2025 with a loss.
PIN Bank posted the largest loss among the 60 Ukrainian banks, UAH 63.19 billion, against a loss of UAH 49.56 million in 2024. Crystalbank had a loss of UAH 32.78 billion, compared to an UAH 9.95-billion loss the year before, and Bank Ukrainian Capital had a loss of UAH 17.70 billion (a loss of UAH 7.28 billion in 2024).
The newly-established Bridge Bank Iute Bank, which has taken over the liabilities of the insolvent RwS Bank, ended 2025 with a loss of UAH 3.34 billion.
