Russia maintains lead in turkey meat supplies to China in 2025 - Agroexport
MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - China imported 14,800 tonnes of turkey meat worth $40.5 million in 2025, of which 13,200 tonnes (worth $35.3 million) came from Russia, the Agroexport federal center told Interfax, citing data from China's General Administration of Customs.
"Supplies from Russia accounted for around 90% of China's turkey imports in physical terms. It is noteworthy that, despite the overall decrease in China's purchases of turkey meat last year, Russia's position as the key supplier remained unchanged," Agroexport said, recalling that in 2024 China imported 16,00 tonnes of this product worth $50 million.
Chile was in second place in 2025, behind by a significant margin - 1,500 tonnes, worth $5.2 million.
The National Association of Turkey Producers in December 2025 forecasted that Russia could export up to 37,000 tonnes of turkey meat by the end of the year, up 33% compared to 2024. The estimate for supplies in 2026 is around 40,000 tonnes.
Russia produced 438,000 tonnes of turkey meat in slaughter weight in 2024, up 3.8% compared to the previous year, and confirmed its status as the largest producer of turkey meat in Europe and the second largest in the world. The target for 2030 is 650,000 tonnes.
