Brazil seeking to boost imports of potassium chloride from Belarus

MINSK. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Brazil is interested in boosting imports of potash fertilizer from Belarus, and hopes to resume collaboration between Minsk and Embraer, Brazilian Ambassador to Belarus Bernard Klingl said after a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"We would like to continue supplies of Belarusian potash fertilizer to our country, as well as increase them," Klingl told reporters, as quoted by the BelTA state news agency.

Brazil also hopes to restore Embraer's collaboration with Belarus.

"We hope to resume collaboration. This of course depends on not only Belarus and Brazil, but the overall political context needs to be considered. We believe that we are able to overcome the remaining problems, because we think that cooperation between Belarus and Embraer is mutually beneficial. We manufacture the best aircraft, and Belarus is ready to offer us a very large market, namely the territory not only of Belarus, but also of the CIS," Klingl said.
