Russia exports nearly 20,000 tonnes of grain to Armenia via Azerbaijan since Nov - media

BAKU. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russia has exported 19,900 tonnes of grain to Armenia via Azerbaijan since November, Azerbaijan's Report news agency said.

The news agency said that another freight train comprising 25 railcars with 1,750 tonnes of Russian grain transiting Azerbaijan to Armenia departed from the Balajari railway station in Baku on Sunday, February 1, heading to Georgia, from where it will proceed to the Dalarik station in Armenia.

"To date, 285 wagons with grain totaling 19,900 tonnes have already been shipped from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan," the news agency said.

As reported, Azerbaijan at the end of October said that it was lifting the embargo on the transit of goods to Armenia via its territory. The first shipment of Russian grain products followed the Russia-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia route in November.
