Russia increases vegetable oil exports to UAE 3.5-fold in 2025 to $26.5 mln - Agroexport
DUBAI. Jan 29 (Interfax) - Russia exported more than 21,500 tonnes of vegetable oil worth $26.5 million to the UAE in 2025, the head of the Agroexport federal center, Ilya Ilyushin, told reporters at the Gulfood2026 international exhibition in Dubai.
Compared to 2024, supplies increased 2.8-fold in physical terms and 3.5-fold in value terms, he said.
The driver of exports was sunflower oil, supplies of which to the UAE exceeded 13,500 tonnes worth almost $18 million in 2025. They increased 2.4-fold in physical terms and threefold in value terms.
Exports of soybean oil amounted to more than 7,000 tonnes, up 3.6-fold compared to 2024. Export revenue increased 4.6-fold to almost $8 million.
"In addition, 2025 became the year when exports of Russian rapeseed oil to the UAE were launched. The supply level exceeded 900 tonnes, worth almost $1 million," Ilyushin said.
According to the Russian Agriculture Ministry, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and the UAE totaled around $400 million in 2025.
