Russia's Chukotka region keeps gold production flat, silver down 18.4% in 2025

VLADIVOSTOK. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Russia's Far Eastern Chukotka Autonomous District produced 24.5 tonnes of gold and 113 tonnes of silver in 2025, the region's Industrial Policy Department said.

Gold production was level with 2024 but silver fell 18.4%.

The region mined 21.8 tonnes of hardrock gold and 2.67 tonnes of alluvial gold last year.

JSC Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, LLC Rudnik Valunisty, LLC Kanchalano-Amguem and JSC Base Metals, all of which are part of Vladislav Sviblov's Areal, formerly Highland Gold, mine hardrock gold Chukotka, as do JSC Polymetal's LLC Mayskoye Gold Company and LLC Rudnik Karalveem, which is run by the Gold Projects Management Company.

The Areal enterprises mined 15.6 tonnes or 64.2% of the region's gold, Karalveem mined 1.67 tonnes and Mayskoye 4.53 tonnes.

Areal's Northern Gold LLC continued to process stacked ore at the Dvoinoye field.

The region produced 24.5 tonnes of gold in 2024, up 3% from 2023, and 138.4 tonnes of silver, up 13%.
