Tajikistan discusses purchase of Chinese aircraft, expansion of air traffic with China

DUSHANBE. Jan 27 (Interfax) - The director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Tajik government, Habibullo Nazarzoda, has held negotiations with the first deputy general director of the Chinese aircraft manufacturing company COMAC, Liang Cumian, and the head of Chengdu Airlines, Zhu Yulun, the agency's press center said.

The parties discussed the prospects for purchasing aircraft produced by COMAC, as well as the possibility of Chengdu Airlines opening new routes from Tajikistan to China, the press center said.

On July 1, 2025, Chengdu Airlines opened Khujand-Kashgar-Khujand flights with a frequency of once a week, it said. In the future, the company planned to fly to other cities as well.

COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) is a Chinese state-owned aerospace manufacturing company.
