Trade turnover between Azerbaijan, Russia up 2.5% in 2025

BAKU. Jan 21 (Interfax) - Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $4.92 billion in 2025, up 2.5% compared to the previous year, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) said.

Trade operations with Russia accounted for 9.96% of the country's total foreign trade turnover, the SCC said. Russia is Azerbaijan's third largest foreign trade partner after Italy and Turkey.

Exports of Azerbaijani products to Russia amounted to $1.184 billion in 2025 (+0.5%). Overall, supplies to Russia accounted for 4.73% of Azerbaijani exports.

Russia is also the largest buyer of Azerbaijani non-oil products. Azerbaijan's supplies to Russia last year amounted to $1.174 billion (+1%), with a share of 32.37%. Russia ranks third among the countries to which Azerbaijani products are exported.

Azerbaijan imported goods from Russia worth $3.736 billion in 2025, up 3.2%, with Russian supplies accounting for 15.33% of total imports. Russia is the second largest importer to Azerbaijan in physical terms after China.

According to the SCC data, Azerbaijan's negative trade balance in exports and imports with Russia therefore amounted to $2.552 billion in 2025.

Azerbaijani-Russian trade turnover reached $4.8 billion in 2024, up 10.1% compared to 2023.
