AB-Batteries distributor to launch production in Kuban for 1 bln rubles in 2026 - local authorities
KRASNODAR. Jan 20 (Interfax) - AB-Batteries distributor will commission an alkaline battery plant in 2026, the regional administration's press service said.
The plant should produce 264 million batteries annually once fully operational, accounting for 40% of the Russian market for these products.
Construction began on the plant in 2022, with investment reported at 1 billion rubles at the time. The project includes the launch of two production lines for AA and AAA batteries.
Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev in the statement said that 27 import-substitution projects are currently underway in the region, nine of which should be launched in 2026.
AB-Batteries is a wholesale distributor of batteries in Russia and the CIS, according to the company's website. The company began operating in Moscow in 1994, relocating to the Krasnodar Territory in 2023. The company generated revenue of 789.2 million rubles and net profit of 90.8 million rubles to Russian Accounting Standards in 2024. Unified State Registry of Legal Entities (USRLE) data indicate that AB-Batteries CEO Andrei Bondarenko is the company's sole owner.
