Azerbaijan increases output of agricultural products 1% in 2025
BAKU. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Agricultural production in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.19 billion manat in 2025, up 0.9% compared to 2024, the country's State Statistical Committee said.
Livestock production amounted to 7.44 billion manat (+0.3%) and crop production stood at 6.75 billion manat (+1.5%).
The country produced 659,200 tonnes of meat (at the level of 2024), 2.306 million tonnes of milk (+0.3%), 2.343 billion eggs (+1.8%), 14,600 tonnes of wool (-1.3%) and 186.6 tonnes of silkworm cocoons (-22.1%).
As of January 1, 2026, the country had 6.758 million heads of sheep and goats and 2.436 million heads of cattle, including 1.207 million heads of cows and buffaloes. Cows and buffaloes account for 49.6% of the cattle population.
Last year, poultry farming enterprises produced 85,100 tonnes of poultry meat in live weight and more than 1.193 billion eggs. In total, the number of birds in these farms amounted to 12.58 million heads. The average productivity per laying hen was 246 eggs.
As of the end of December, 3.376 million tonnes of grains and legumes (including corn) were harvested from the fields, up 3% compared to 2024, along with 1.769 million tonnes of vegetables (-3.8%), 1.394 million tonnes of fruits and berries (+5.8%), 924,700 tonnes of potatoes (-0.3%), 459,000 tonnes of melons and gourds (-6.4%), 363,200 tonnes of cotton (+16.8%), 328,500 tonnes of sugar beet (+13.2%), 210,900 tonnes of grapes (+2.8%), 31,800 tonnes of sunflower (+1.9%), 8,400 tonnes of tobacco (+28.9%) and 1,200 tonnes of green tea (+12.7%).
Agricultural production in Azerbaijan increased 1.5% in 2024 compared to the figure for the previous year.
The official exchange rate on January 20 is 1.7 manat/$1.
