Russia should dramatically increase use of autonomous systems in all spheres of life - Putin

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Russia should dramatically increase the use of autonomous systems in all spheres of life, therefore, it is wrong to put barriers on the path of technological development, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We should dramatically increase the use of autonomous systems in all spheres of life. Therefore, it is wrong to put barriers, obstacles on the path of technological development or avoid making decisions, following the principle 'just to be on the safe side.' Frankly speaking, such behavior is unacceptable," Putin said at a meeting on the development of autonomous systems.

Security issues need to be given special attention, he said. "Among other things, it is necessary to prevent unauthorized access to the management of autonomous systems, as well as to the data they transmit and receive. Relevant scientific and engineering projects in the sphere of cybersecurity definitely need to be supported," Putin said.

This track is actively developing in Russia, Putin said, adding he is certain these issues can be solved.
