Tourist arrivals in Georgia up 8% in 2025, including 13% rise in number of Russian travelers

TBILISI. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Some 7.8 million travelers (both transit travelers and foreign tourists) visited Georgia in 2025, showing a 5.9% rise from the year before, the Georgian Economy Ministry's National Tourism Administration said.

The number of foreign tourists increased 8.4% to 5.52 million.

Tourist arrivals stood at 1.69 million in Q4 2025 (up 7.6% YoY) compared with 2.96 million in Q3 2025 (up 6.6% YoY).

Administration data show that Russia, as usual, headed the top five countries by the number of tourists visiting Georgia with 1.61 million tourist arrivals (up 13.4%), followed by Turkey with 1.26 million tourist arrivals (down 6%), Armenia (962,100 people, up 1.5%), Israel (411,100 people, up 32.2%) and Azerbaijan (294,000 people, up 34%).

EU and British tourist arrivals in Georgia totaled around 0.5 million in 20225, up 14%, it said.

In 2024, 7.37 million foreign travelers visited Georgia, up from 7.07 million in 2023.

Georgian authorities expected the number of foreign tourists to reach 7.9 million and tourism revenues to hit $4.5 billion in 2025, versus $4.4 billion in 2024.
