Kazakhstan aims to increase oil exports to Germany to 2.5 mln tonnes in 2026 from 2.1 mln tonnes in 2025 - KazMunayGas
ASTANA. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan exported 2.1 million tonnes of oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline system in 2025, the Central Asian country's national oil company, KazMunayGas (KMG) reported.
Shipments of Kazakh crude to the Schwedt oil refinery in Germany rose to 2.1 million tonnes in 2025 and are expected to grow to 2.5 million tonnes in 2026, the company said.
KMG initially said that Kazakhstan planned to export 1.5 million tonnes of oil Germany through the Druzhba pipeline in 2025, which would have been the same as the amount exported in 2024 through this route. Later, KMG materials showed there were plans to increase oil exports to Germany to 2 million tonnes in 2025. However, KMG head Askhat Khasenov said in October that the company planned to ship 1.7 million tonnes of crude to Germany in 2025.
Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said then that shipments could be increased to 2 million tonnes if Germany requested this.
Kazakhstan has been exporting oil to Germany through Transneft's pipeline system in the direction of the Adamova Zastava transfer point since 2023.
