Turkey's MKB Group plans to build tractor plant in Dagestan
MAKHACHKALA. Jan 15 (Interfax) - The government of Dagestan and representatives of MKB Group of Ankara, Turkey have discussed building an assembly plant for agricultural machinery in the Russian region, first and foremost for tractors, the press service of Dagestan's export support center reported.
"The launch and localization of production will provide impetus for the development of our enterprises and their production capacities, increasing their workload. Moreover, I consider it essential that we come up with additional state support measures for the enterprises involved in the project in future," the republic's deputy prime minister, Rizvan Gazimagomedov, is quoted as saying in the press release.
The press release says that the Dagestani regional government and MKB Group representatives agreed to continue working on implementing the investment project. The companies involved will be JSC Dagdizel Plant and JSC Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant (KEMZ) Concern of Dagestan, with plans to produce 70 tractors each month.
The press service of Dagestan's export support center told Interfax that the deadlines and funding amounts of the investment project had not been set.
MKB Group writes on its website that it "is involved in all kinds of production projects".
Registered in February 2000, JSC Dagdizel Plant's main occupation is the production of weapons and ammunition. It had 3.03 billion rubles of revenue and a net profit of 149.07 million rubles in 2024.
JSC KEMZ Concern was registered in April 1998. Its main occupation is the production of helicopters, airplanes and other flying vehicles. It had revenue of 6.29 billion rubles and a net profit of 2.6 billion rubles in 2024.
