Ukrainian seaports' cargo turnover down 15.9% YoY in 2025 - deputy prime minister
MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Cargo turnover at Ukrainian seaports decreased 15.9% year-on-year to 81.7 million tonnes in 2025, Ukrainian media quoted Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Community and Territorial Development Minister Alexei Kuleba as saying.
The volume of agricultural products, the bulk of last year's cargo turnover at seaports, dropped 26.3% year-on-year to 44.2 million tonnes.
"At the same time, container traffic increased considerably to 215,748 TEU from 129,902 a year ago," media outlets quoted Kuleba as saying on social media.
Ukrainian ports transshipped 82.2 million tonnes of cargo, or more than 95% of the target, he said. Ukraine exported its products to 55 countries in 2025.
Kuleba said in late December 2025 that the total volume of cargo that passed through Ukraine's water logistics system over the year dropped to 76.1 million tonnes. The Danube ports of Izmail, Reni and Ust-Dunaisk transshipped more than 8.2 million tonnes of cargo in 2025 versus 17.3 million in 2024.
