Tariffs for electric, thermal energy increased in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Tajik government has raised tariffs for electric and thermal energy, and the price of 1 kWh of electricity for the population will increase from 35.36 diram to 41.37 diram on February 1, 2026.
The document was adopted to develop the energy industry and achieve the level of self-financing of financial and economic activities of open joint-stock companies Barki Tojik, Electric Power Transmission Networks and Electric Power Distribution Networks, the Tajik presidential press service said.
If the monthly electricity consumption by the population exceeds 10,000 kWh, the difference in excess of the established norm will be paid at the tariff for industrial and non-industrial consumers - 94.65 diram per 1 kWh.
The same tariff (94.65 diram per 1 kWh) applies to charging points for electric vehicles, with the exception of charging stations for state executive authorities' electric vehicles and the population's own needs.
In accordance with the government decree, tariffs for 1 Gcal of thermal energy are set as follows: for institutions and management bodies financed from the budget - 173.16 somoni, for institutions included in the Heat Networks of the city of Dushanbe - 29.8 somoni, for other consumers - 199.1 somoni.
The current exchange rate is $1/9.3173 somoni.
The last tariff hike was made in Tajikistan in April 2025, when the price increased 14% from 30.75 diram to 35.36 diram.
