Growth in Russia's manufacturing industry preliminarily estimated at around 3% in 2025 - first deputy PM
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Russia's manufacturing industry, according to preliminary data, grew around 3% in 2025, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
"As part of the planned course for cooling the economy, the dynamics in the manufacturing sectors of industry indeed remain positive. We ended 2025 with indicators of about 3%, and in February we will see the figures more precisely after receiving official statistics," he said.
"The situation varies quite significantly by sector. There are good figures in pharmaceuticals, the medical industry and radio electronics. That's over 15%. Growth in the chemical sector, including mineral fertilizers, was over 6%. At the same time, for the sectors most sensitive to the compression of demand, we see a decline, but at the same time we as the government constantly monitor the situation at enterprises virtually in a manual mode to ensure targeted support and control over the financial stability of these enterprises," Manturov said.
Investment growth in the manufacturing sectors amounted to 23% in January-September 2025, reaching 5 trillion rubles, he said.
Exports of manufacturing sector products increased 18% in January-October 2025, Manturov said (according to the Federal Customs Service, Russia's total exports for this period decreased 4.3% to $339.8 billion). "Our exports of competitive products - for the first 10 months of last year, growth amounted to 18%. This indicates that our enterprises have overcome the first stage of adaptation to new markets, considering that we currently supply 80% precisely to friendly countries. Before 2022, this figure was approximately 60%," he said.
"I think this trend will also have a significant impact on these indicators in the future, considering that we are opening, for example, trade missions in those regions where we see growing interest in our products in particular. These are Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, not to mention the CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States] and the Eurasian Economic Union," he said.
According to the latest data from Rosstat, Russia's manufacturing industry in January-November 2025 showed year-on-year growth of 2.6%.
