Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company increases oil transportation 2.2% in 2025
BAKU. Jan 12 (Interfax) - CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) transported over 9.09 million tonnes of cargo in 2025, up 5.4% compared to 2024, the company said.
The highest growth was recorded in the dry cargo transportation segment, at 45% to 1.33 million tonnes of cargo, the company said.
Transportation of oil and petroleum products by tankers also increased. "If in 2024 tankers transported more than 4.22 million tonnes of cargo, then in 2025 this figure exceeded 4.31 million tonnes, which means growth of 2.2% in this segment," it said.
Ferry vessels transported 77,070 units of wagons, trucks and automotive equipment, up 0.4% compared to the figure for 2024 (76,760 units).
ASCO vessels transported 22,030 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of containers in 2025, up threefold.
ASCO provides cargo transportation services as well as services related to servicing the oil and gas production process on the Caspian continental shelf. The company's fleet consists of 22 tankers, 15 ferries, 14 universal dry cargo vessels, two ro-ro type vessels, two ro-pax type vessels and two handysize bulkers. The company also includes ship repair plants.
