Central Bank raises estimate of Russia's external debt as of Oct 1 to $308.1 bln from $305 bln

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The estimate of Russia's total external debt as of October 1, 2025, has been raised to $308.1 billion from $305 billion, according to data on the Central Bank's website.

Russia's external debt fell $14.3 billion or 4.4% from $322.4 billion in Q3 2025 after rising $9.9 billion in Q2 and $22.8 bln in Q1, from $289.8 billion as of January 1.

As a result, Russia's external debt increased by $18.3 billion or 6.3% over the first nine months of 2025.

The external debt of other sectors decreased by $17.5 billion or 9.0% to $176.1 billion in Q3 and rose $1.4 billion or 0.8% in 9M 2025, from $174.7 billion at the start of the year.

Central bank and banking sector debt increased by $3.2 billion or 3.0% to $108.5 billion in Q3. This debt increased by $12.8 billion or 13.3% in 9M, from $95.7 billion on January 1.

Government debt increased by $27 million or 0.1% to $23.5 billion Q3 and $4.1 billion or 21.4% from $19.3 billion in 9M.

Russia's external debt fell $27.5 billion or 8.6% from $318.3 billion to $290.8 billion in 2024.
