Russia's Chukotka region cuts gold production 4.4%, ups silver 2.7% in 11M

VLADIVOSTOK. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Russia's Far Eastern Chukotka Autonomous District produced 21.5 tonnes of gold and 102.9 tonnes of silver in January-November 2025, the region's Industrial Policy Department said.

Gold production fell 4.4% and silver rose 2.7%: Chukotka mined 22.5 tonnes of gold and 100.2 tonnes of silver in the first 11months of 2024.

JSC Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, LLC Rudnik Valunisty, LLC Kanchalano-Amguem and JSC Base Metals, all of which are part of Vladislav Sviblov's Areal, formerly Highland Gold, mine hardrock gold Chukotka, as do JSC Polymetal's LLC Mayskoye Gold Company and LLC Rudnik Karalveem, which is run by the Gold Projects Management Company.

The Areal enterprises mined 13.6 tonnes or 63.4% of the gold, Karalveem mined 1.548 tonnes and Mayskoye 4.032 tonnes.

The region produced 24.5 tonnes of gold in 2024, up 3% from 2023, and 138.4 tonnes of silver, up 13%.
